Thornwick Bay
North Marine Road, Flamborough, East Yorkshire, Yorkshire, YO15 1AU
About this park
Looming chalk cliffs lead to gorgeous coastal views in a lovely location. This park’s the youngest member of the Haven family, having been treated to a multi-million pound refurbishment not so long ago. It’s perfectly placed for local exploration, by foot or by bike, especially if you’re keen to try spotting puffins and other wildlife. Flamborough Head and Bempton Cliffs are alive with seabirds every summer, including gannets, kittiwakes, guillemots and the greatly beloved pudgy puffins.
The park itself is still packed with all the familiar Haven faves, like the heated indoor pool, an array of daytime activities and fishing at the on-park lake.
There’s also an all-weather Activity Barn, Segway rides and extra-special entertainment that includes the Thornwick Bay Theatre Company and Seaside Streetside pop-up performers.
Pre-owned caravans at Thornwick Bay start from £17,995 and Haven can help with finance.
The local area
This area of coastal Yorkshire is beautiful, dotted with much-loved resorts like Scarborough and Whitby and plenty of attractions at which to enjoy a day out.
Step back in time at Eden Camp in Malton, North Yorks, where you will be transported back to experience the sights, sounds and smells of wartime Britain all within the grounds of an original POW Camp. It is one of the largest and most comprehensive museums covering British military and social history from 1914 onward.
Nearby beaches include Filey Bay, a long sandy beach edged with a historical promenade and beach chalets. Nearby to the north, Filey Brigg has some good rock pools to explore. Flamborough beach is 1/4 mile in length, backed by cliffs, and made up of sand and pebbles with some rock pools and chalk caves which are only accessible at low tide.
Also at Flamborough is Flamborough Head lighthouse, located on 400 feet chalk cliff headland, great of birdwatching and hiking. Home to Britain’s only mainland colony of gannets with an RSPB sanctuary nearby.
For a fun day out hop on board the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and enjoy some amazing scenery on one of the world’s greatest heritage railways. Let our fleet of steam and heritage diesel trains transport you along 24 miles of Yorkshire countryside.
Sewerby Hall and Gardens sits in a dramatic clifftop position with spectacular views over Bridlington and set in 50 acres of early 19th Century parkland. Enjoy the gardens whatever the season. Keep the children amused at the zoo, and a round on the green for golfers.
