It’s an exciting step, giving you an open door to endless holidays and precious time to spend with friends and family.
It may seem a little daunting at first, but don’t worry – we’re here to help you, with some great tips and advice to help you make a smart choice.
- Choose your park. The UK has a fantastic range of coastal and countryside destinations, all ideal for short breaks or longer stays. You’ll find top, trusted brands with Haven, Parkdean Resorts and Park Holidays UK all offering the very best locations and facilities.
- Start your search here. Use our site to compare and shortlist holiday parks in your favourite regions, request brochures and book a park visit so you can see your preferred sites for yourself. On your visit, you’ll have the chance to talk with existing owners and meet your Holiday Home Advisor, who will show you around the park and answer any questions about owning your own holiday home. You’ll soon have a flavour of what it could mean for you and your family.
- Think about running costs. When buying a holiday home it’s really important you consider the full range of running costs, in addition to the price of purchase. For example, your yearly charges will include pitch fees, winterisation and utility bills, which will vary, depending on the location of your holiday home. Our advice is to set a realistic budget before you make any park visits, and stick to it. You should also ask your park about letting services, as you may be able to off-set some of your running costs by letting out your holiday home to holidaymakers when you’re not using it.
- Find your perfect holiday home. If this is the first time you have thought about owning at a holiday park, you may be surprised by the huge range of accommodation options available. They can range from luxury lodges to new and used caravans, with lots of different sizes, configurations and styles available. There is something to suit every budget, but you really must see them for yourself to make an informed decision. Many holiday parks can offer finance to help you find your purchase.
- Choose your pitch. You are nearly there! Once you have picked your park and holiday home, you decide where your pitch will be sited. Think about whether you want to be close to the facilities, have a sea view, or want somewhere that’s peaceful and quiet. Your holiday home advisor will be able to help you with all these important decisions.
- Welcome meeting. You are all set up and ready to go! You’ll find that the park’s manager is waiting to give you a warm welcome to the community. There are likely to be regular owner events too, which is great fun in the summer sunshine.
Now you can sit back and enjoy holidays time after time!
